Been following Dan for years, way back in University when Twitter was just being hatched and when HTML5 & CSS3 were hot new technologies. I admire how he's built up his tiny design studio over the years, his authenticity and love for his Place. Two of his three books—Twenty Bits I've Learned About: Design, Business, and Community; Making Fonts; and Making Websites are all inspirations that have helped me see the light on self-publishing my own books. Who knew professional books don't have to be tens-of-thousands of words?
